Miscreants force Tiwaris to change Manjiri's b'day plans
NAGPUR: Mahesh and Pallavi Tiwari of Manav Nagar would have celebrated Manjiri's second birthday on Monday with a bash like last year. The plan has gone astray after they were robbed of their valuables worth around Rs 5 lakhs on Thursday.
The burglars struck in the wee hours of Thursday when the Tiwaris were in Jabalpur and decamped with around 22 tola gold and 1kg silver.

What has doubled the family's grief is that the Rs 22,000 cash that was kept in Manjiri's piggy bank too had been taken away.
Mahesh Tiwari, owner of a shop of scientific equipment at Sitabuldi, wanted to put some more money into the piggy bank before investing it into a fixed deposit. "The piggy bank was smashed by the thieves," he said.
Mahesh is aggrieved that the Jaripatka cops undervalued their loss to a great extent, pegging it Rs 1.50 lakh. With Mahesh claiming that the loss amounted to Rs 5 lakh, the cops have sought authentic bills of every piece of jewellery that has been stolen.
"Most of the ornaments were gifted to us by relatives during my marriage in 2008. We cannot go around asking for bills from them," said a crestfallen Mahesh.
Mahesh was informed about the burglary by his neighbour who called the cops too. The burglars had forced open the main door and the almirahs.
Finding a receipt for diamond kept near some imitation jewellery, the burglars took it away too.
